Howl of the Pack: Give your Wallabies Player Ratings here

Rate Every Wallaby, Coach & Ref

The Wallabies have just lined up for the second time against their ultimate foe, the All Blacks. Wallabies will be looking to hit back after a tough loss last week. Some players will have earned their post-match tinnie. Some will have a lot to answer for. And some might just surprise you.

We’re giving you the floor. Rate every Wallaby on the park — the full 23, starting XV through bench — plus Les Kiss’s coaching calls and referee Andrea Piardi’s whistle. Use our Underdog Rating System (see below) and let us know exactly where you’d score each player. The results will be collated and presented along with Mirt’s ratings.

Underdog Rating System:

  • 1: Deadset liability
  • 2: Absolute Barry Crocker
  • 3: A bit of a dog’s breakfast
  • 4: Yeah, nah, not his best
  • 5: Punched the clock
  • 6: Earned his post-match tinnie
  • 7: Gave it a red-hot go
  • 8: Absolute ripper
  • 9: Played a deadset blinder
  • 10: John Eales

The Underdog Awards

Every Test, moving forward we will hand out four gongs to the Wallabies who earned them. Here’s what it takes to win one.

🏆 The Top Dog: best player on the park.
The leader of the pack. The bloke who carried the side, made the big plays when it mattered and left the opposition wondering what hit them. If there’s one Wallaby you’d buy a beer for after the game, he’s the Top Dog.

🐕 The Greyhound: best back.
Built for speed and born to chase. The Greyhound goes to the back who lit up the paddock with line breaks, footwork, tries or a kicking game that kept the opposition running backwards. Quick off the mark and gone before you blink. Bonus points if their jersey is clean and hair is perfect post match.

🐂 The Bull Mastiff: best forward.
Big, strong and doesn’t take a backward step. The Bull Mastiff goes to the forward who did the hard yards: carries over the gain line, dominant at the breakdown, solid in the scrum and lineout, and still standing when the final whistle goes.

🐾 The Chihuahua: biggest pest.
Small dog, big attitude. The Chihuahua goes to the player who spent their time yapping at the opposition’s heels: pinching ball at the ruck, slowing them down, getting under their skin and generally making a nuisance of himself. Not always the biggest bloke on the field, but the one the other side most wanted to boot over the fence.

She probably could make the team. Especially if she’s a fly half

He had a free good runs but the kicking errors are unacceptable. Two botched kick offs, one penalty dead and a pointless chip kick. Some nice runs at the back end I agree

Agree, for me only Meredith, Wright, Bell and Daugunu had good games.
